North Bay, Ontario - The Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l’Ontario would like to inform families and the community of an important update regarding the configuration of school facilities in West Nipissing.
Beginning in September 2026, Grade 7 and 8 students from White Woods Public School will attend Northern Secondary School of the Near North District School Board. This reorganization is intended, in part, to address the lack of space at White Woods Public School.
At present, students from École secondaire publique Nipissing Ouest share facilities with Northern Secondary School. While the announced changes primarily concern the Near North District School Board, this reorganization is also part of a longer-term planning process between the two school boards.
As part of this planning, it is anticipated that the White Woods Public School building will be transferred to the CSPNE in order to accommodate students from École secondaire publique Nipissing Ouest, as well as Grade 7 and 8 students from École publique Jeunesse Active.

The CSPNE will continue communicating with families and the community as the project progresses and as new information becomes available.
An information session organized by the NNDSB and the CSPNE will also take place on June 17 at 6 p.m. at École secondaire publique Nipissing Ouest to meet with families and answer their questions.
