CSPNE Approves the Southern Region School Calendar for 2026–2027

For immediate release 

North Bay, Ontario - The Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l’Ontario (CSPNE) announces that during its meeting held on February 27, school trustees approved the school calendars for the 2026–2027 school year. 

Developed in collaboration with neighbouring school boards in the southern region of the CSPNE — the Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord (CSCFN), the Near North District School Board (NNDSB), and the Nipissing Parry Sound Catholic District School Board (NPSCDSB) — this calendar establishes the key dates for schools in the communities of Sturgeon Falls, North Bay, and Parry Sound. 

Key dates for the 2026–2027 school calendar: 

• First day of school for students: September 8, 2026 

• Holiday break: December 21, 2026 to January 1, 2027 

• Secondary Semester 1 exams: February 1 to 4, 2027 

• March break: March 15 to 19, 2027 

• Secondary Semester 2 exams: June 23 to 30, 2027 

• Last day of school for students: June 30, 2027 

Professional Activity (PA) Days: 

• September 2, 2026 

• September 3, 2026 

• October 26, 2026 

• November 27, 2026 

• February 5, 2027 

• April 16, 2027 

• June 11, 2027
