North Bay, Ontario – The Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l’Ontario is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Karyne Labonté as Superintendent of Education.
With nearly 22 years of experience in education, including more than 10 years as a principal at both the elementary and secondary levels, Ms. Labonté has distinguished herself throughout her career through leadership that is both people-centered and inspiring, and deeply rooted in the pedagogical realities of school communities.
Over the course of her career, Ms. Labonté has led several school teams and made significant contributions to the improvement of instructional practices, while fostering positive, inclusive, and safe learning environments. She has also overseen large-scale initiatives, including school amalgamations and major construction projects, demonstrating a strong ability to manage complex files, mobilize teams, and guide change with rigor and care.
Having worked in Northern Ontario, Ms. Labonté brings a thorough understanding of the region and the communities she will serve—an important asset for the CSPNE.
