North Bay, Ontario – The Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l'Ontario is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Mélanie Lamoureux as Principal of École secondaire publique Nipissing-Ouest, effective August 18. Ms. Lamoureux will succeed Ms. Suzanne Hevey, recently appointed Vice-Principal at École publique Héritage.
A committed Franco-Ontarian leader, experienced administrator and passionate educator, Ms. Lamoureux has over 20 years' experience in education in Northern Ontario. Her background includes roles as vice-principal, educational consultant, provincial education officer and university lecturer. In recent years, she has worked for EQAO as a provincial education officer.
A member of the Métis community, Ms. Lamoureux is deeply rooted in the realities of the North. She stands out for her commitment to equity, the promotion of the francophonie and the success of all students.
Ms. Lamoureux's new position is in line with the Board's commitment to providing a quality school environment based on pedagogical innovation and collaboration. Her arrival at École secondaire publique Nipissing-Ouest will undoubtedly help reinforce the school's positive momentum, and promote the excellence of French-language public education in the region.
