North Bay, Ontario – The Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l’Ontario is proud to announce the student trustees selected for the 2025–2026 school year. During the board meeting held on April 4, 2025, the CSPNE trustees officially approved the appointment of the students who will represent their peers on the board throughout the coming year.
Amélie Éthier, from École secondaire publique Écho du Nord in Kapuskasing, will serve as president of the student trustees group. She succeeds Janelle Dauphinais, from École secondaire publique Nipissing Ouest in Sturgeon Falls. Already a member of the council in 2024–2025 as Vice-President North, Amélie is continuing her involvement with great enthusiasm. Mélissa Trudel, also from Écho du Nord in Kapuskasing, will take over as Vice-President North. Finally, Emmanuel Fankam, from École secondaire publique aux Quatre-Vents in Parry Sound, is joining the student council as Vice-President South.
These students share a common desire to actively contribute to student life at CSPNE. Amélie Éthier is thrilled to return to the council. Drawing on her experience as Vice-President North, she is eager to continue representing her peers, deepen her involvement, and further develop her leadership. Emmanuel Fankam, a Grade 10 student in Parry Sound, sees this new role as an opportunity to grow his leadership skills and enrich his path toward university. Mélissa Trudel, who will be entering Grade 11, is a dynamic, athletic student already actively engaged in her school community. She is now ready to contribute on a broader scale.
Outgoing president Janelle Dauphinais looks back fondly on her term, especially the travel opportunities she experienced through the role. She encourages the new members to fully engage and seize every opportunity that comes their way.
The Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l’Ontario wishes them great success in this new chapter and sincerely thanks the outgoing student trustees for their contributions and dedication.
