New Trustee for CSPNE

For immediate release

North Bay - The Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l'Ontario (CSPNE) swore in Bruce Cazabon, a new trustee for the Parry Sound area, at its regular meeting on Thursday, May 26.  He was appointed by the Board of Education to replace his predecessor, Mr. Denis Boyer, who recently resigned due to a move outside the Board's territory.

Mr. Cazabon will assume his new duties until the newly elected officials take office following the school elections scheduled for October 24, 2022.  He was a candidate for the Temiskaming region (electoral zone D) in the 2018 election.

Involved in his community of North Bay, Mr. Cazabon will be able to defend and represent the interests of the Francophone and Francophile community of the Parry Sound area and the entire CSPNE Electoral Zone A.

Denis Labelle, Chair of the Board, said his appointment provides a political presence for the École publique aux Quatre-Vents school community.  "We are pleased to have Bruce Cazabon at the CSPNE political table. We look forward to working with him in the coming months.  We would also like to thank our colleague Denis Boyer who has greatly contributed to the advancement of French language public education in Northeastern Ontario for the past 10 years."

The Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est wishes Mr. Cazabon and Mr. Boyer every success in their new respective endeavors.

In accordance with universal values, the CSPNE covers an area of 46,453 km2 and provides the communities of Hearst, Kapuskasing, Iroquois Falls, Timmins, Temiskaming Shores, Sturgeon Falls, North Bay and Parry Sound with quality French-language education. Close to 2,100 northeastern Ontario students have chosen French-language public schools.
